Parkside Chats

Parkside Chats is California State Parks Foundation’s virtual event series designed to deepen connections between people and parks. Through engaging conversations, we highlight the unique stories and significance of California’s 280 state parks — and the people who make them thrive. Rangers, interpreters, scientists, volunteers, and community partners share experiences that inform, inspire, and invite all Californians to see themselves reflected in the parks.

Our goals are to broaden public understanding of the importance of state parks by sharing the untold stories that often go unheard — stories of the people who care for these places, the communities shaped by them, and the histories that define them. By lifting up these perspectives, Parkside Chats builds stronger connections between supporters and parks, offers accessible educational content, and inspires action, involvement, and philanthropy.
