California’s state parks depend on strong budgets and smart legislation. At California State Parks Foundation, we actively track and influence both—ensuring that state budget priorities and policy decisions reflect the needs of parks and the millions of people who rely on them. 

Our advocacy team conducts research and analysis, builds coalitions, and mobilizes grassroots support to make sure lawmakers understand the value of investing in state parks. 

We take action in multiple ways to protect and expand funding for California’s state parks:  

• Testifying before legislative committees to shape state park policies
• Submitting sign-on letters and policy recommendations to elected officials
• Meeting directly with decision makers to highlight park needs
• Rallying park supporters across California to advocate for state parks..
