AB 2875 - Wetlands: state policy (Friedman) | Cal Parks

Our Position

In second house

Would declare that it is the policy of the state to ensure no net loss and long-term gain in the quantity, quality, and permanence of wetlands acreage and values in California.

Position Statement

Wetlands are valuable for flood protection, water quality improvement, and shoreline erosion control, threats that are intensifying as the state experiences climate change. California has already lost 90% of its historical wetlands, and those that remain are threatened.
