Is the proposed program or project required to benefit a California state park? 

Yes, all programs or projects must benefit one or more California state parks.  

What organizations are eligible to apply? 

Organizations in a contractual relationship with CA Department of Parks and Recreation, government organizations, Native American tribal governments (federally recognized), Native American tribal governments (other than federally recognized), education organizations, independent school districts, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations. 

Can an organization that has received funding from California State Parks Foundation on a past grant apply?  

Yes, all past grantees are welcome to apply.  

What is the amount to be awarded?  

Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded.   

Will a letter of support from the California Department of Parks and Recreation be required?  

A letter of support from California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR)  

District Superintendent, or park representative is required. Our goal with this requirement is to ensure applicants have engaged in communication and possible partnership with DPR staff. California State Parks Foundation will prioritize applications that DPR staff think will bring value to the park and its visitors.  

When will applicants be notified if they have been selected?  

Applicants will be notified no later than May 15, 2022.
