California State Park Resolutions for 2024 | Cal Parks
Published: December 20, 2023

As we enter 2024, it's time to reflect on our connections with nature and relationship with California's state parks. We are committed to fostering a deeper relationship between the public and our parks, encouraging everyone to set meaningful resolutions that contribute to preserving and protecting these precious spaces. This year, we've gathered a collection of inspiring resolutions from our community, each reflecting a unique commitment to our parks' well-being. We asked,

"What do you hope to do or accomplish in parks in 2024?"

From personal adventures to collective efforts in conservation and stewardship, these resolutions embody our shared dedication to protecting and cherishing the parks we all love. Read what our park-loving community had to say:

Redwoods Park

I’ve always been an avid camper and a lover of redwoods. However, I have yet to camp directly under these ancient trees. My goal this year is to camp and explore under the redwood at one of Northern California’s majestic redwood state parks.

In 2024, I wish to see more indigenous management, co-management, and stewardship leadership in California’s state parks.

The volunteer community has been very inspiring to me. I love to see folks going out to help protect and preserve our state parks. For this upcoming year, I want to participate in as many volunteer events as possible and help grow the community!

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

I’ve seen hundreds of photos of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park at this point, but I’ve still never visited. I’d love to visit in the spring and see a few other state parks in the area. I also really want to experience a tour of Mitchell Caverns in Providence Mountains State Recreation Area.

To support California’s incredible biodiversity in 2024 and beyond. We have so many unique species that depend on our state parks — giant sequoias, Joshua trees, and monarch butterflies to name just a few! When we protect our parks, we protect the plants and animals that call them home.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their 2024 New Years resolution for state parks! Continue sharing with us on social media!
