Assembly Water Parks and WildlifeThis legislation creates an 8-person Trail Commission to promote policies for trials and investment opportunities to maximize the health, fitness, and social benefits of non-motorized trails. This legislation also asking for a one-time $75 million investment in trail infrastructure and a $15 million on-going investment to create, expand, and improve natural surface trails in the state.
Position Statement
California State Parks manage more than 3,000 miles of trails in California. These trails promote physical activity and social connections. California State Parks Foundation supports this legislation because it improves trails in state parks so that visitors have meaningful and relevant experiences leading to a lifelong connection.
