The Planning for Sea Level Rise Database describes steps being taken throughout the state to prepare for, and adapt to, sea level rise. This legislation extends the database’s use until 2028.

Position Statement

For our cherished state parks, modeling indicates that 5 feet of sea level rise and a 100-year storm would result in the inundation of 593 structures, 150 acres of parking lots, 93 campgrounds and day-use areas, and 65 miles of access roads. California State Parks Foundation supports this legislation because the database encourages the development of tools and collaboration to enhance climate resiliency so California state parks can adapt to the impacts of climate change and remain protected and preserved for all Californians.
