How To Apply

Grants of up to $7,500 are awarded. Due to the competitive nature of grant funding, grants may be awarded for less than the amount requested.

Who Can Apply

A Park Enrichment Grant applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a 501(c )(3) nonprofit, other tax exempt organizations or governmental entity
  • If applying for an organizational capacity grant, the organization’s mission is required to be dedicated to supporting one or multiple of California state park

Organizations may only submit one application per round for consideration.

When to Apply

Grants are awarded twice year. The deadline to submit grant applications and notifications for 2016:

How to Apply

Complete the webform application.

Include a project or program budget (Download sample Excel template).

Include a letter of support from the park’s California Department of Parks and Recreation District or Sector Superintendent. If a facility improvement project, the letter of support by California Department of Parks and Recreation also requires support of the project timeline. (A letter is not required if the grant request is for organizational capacity building or if the state park is not operated by California Department of Parks and Recreation).
