At organized day outings and overnight camping trips, Latino Outdoors is overcoming barriers such as language or transportation that prevent disadvantaged students from visiting parks and giving nontraditional park users and diverse communities an opportunity to experience state parks.

“Our work is important because it has the potential to provide transformative experiences in nature. Approaching community engagement from a cultural lens creates safe and welcoming spaces that leave room for exploration and deeper connections.”
- Graciela Cabello, National Director for Latino Outdoors.
