Environmental Charter High School student Ogechi Hubert's senior thesis explores a lack of diversity in outdoor recreation and the environmental movement. Hubert’s project takes local families and community members on monthly day trips to experience Los Angeles area state parks and discover the incredible opportunities they provide for outdoor recreation and adventure.

"Support from California State Parks Foundation provides the resources for me to speak up and on behalf of my community. Through this program, low income students of color and their families will be able to experience our local parks and the environment. With that, students like me will be inspired to become leaders by taking ownership and lending their voice to the environmental movement."
