RAIDERS EXTEND RELATIONSHIP WITH CALIFORNIA STATE PARKS

California State Parks, the California State Parks Foundation, and The Oakland Raiders are extending their relationship to continue to team up to promote family outdoor recreation.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with California State Parks to encourage everyone in the Raider Nation and the entire Nation to go outside and enjoy our parks and beaches, which are among California's most valuable resources," said Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask.

"State Parks and The Oakland Raiders are already connected through outdoor fitness," said Ruth Coleman, Director of California State Parks. "By continuing to work together to promote the state parks, we will reach a wider audience and educate Raider fans about the importance of recreation and exercise while promoting state parks use."

California State Parks and The Oakland Raiders passed out sunscreen packets, Junior Ranger hats, and welcome kits at one of the Raiders game last season and will provide a similar promotion for the next two seasons during this partnership.

"We are looking forward to educating families about the state parks by distributing more giveaways to Raiders fans," said Susan Parker, Director of Marketing for the California State Parks Foundation. "Moreover, we are excited to continue working with The Oakland Raiders to promote our mission and spread the word about state parks."

The Oakland Raiders' California State Parks Day came about through the California State Parks Proud Partnership Program. Since 2007 the program has engaged The Oakland Raiders in promoting state parks on the team's web site, distributing state parks promotional items, and promoting parks at home games at McAfee Coliseum.

Through the partnership the Raiders will continue to participate in events such as the California State Park Foundation's annual Earth Day event, Fundraiser Gala, and the Parks' Beach Play Day event. The Raiders will also be featured on the Proud Partner Web pages maintained by California State Parks and the California State Parks Foundation and receive a spot in the Park Visitor Welcome Kit and the California State Parks Official Map.

About the Oakland Raiders
The Raiders — who began play in the American Football League in 1960 — enter their 49th year of professional football competition, including the last 38 as a member of the National Football League. In five memorable decades — the 1960s, '70s, '80s, '90s and the 2000s — the Raiders have been one of the most dominant team in professional football since Al Davis first pledged in 1963 to build the finest organization in pro sports. The Raiders placed first in the AFC West in 2000, 2001 and 2002 despite playing among the toughest schedules in the NFL in each of those seasons. With their appearance in Super Bowl XXXVII, the Raiders became the only NFL team to play in Super Bowls in four different decades. In addition, the Raiders are proud to contribute to youth initiatives, community development, environmental concerns and multicultural awareness. For more information, please visit www.raiders.com.
