Earth Day 2008
Thanks to support from Earth Day presenting sponsor Pacific Gas and Electric Company and co-sponsors Oracle, Chevron, Supervalu, Edison International, and Virgin America, CSPF will fund environmental improvement projects in 22 state parks statewide on Saturday, April 19. Come out and help! Volunteers are needed to help plant native trees and flowers, restore trails and wildlife habitats and clean up beaches and park lands. For more information about participating in CSPF's Earth Day 2008 Restoration and Cleanup call 1-888-98-PARKS, email earthday@calparks.org or visit CSPF's Earth Day site for a complete list of project sites statewide.

Listen to CSPF Podcast Series Online
The CSPF Podcast Series began airing in January with a seven-minute episode on Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park. Each month CSPF has posted a new episode online. February featured Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, and March's podcast highlighted Año Nuevo State Reserve. Stay Tuned!

CSPF Photography Contest
On January 1, CSPF launched a free statewide photo contest to generate enthusiasm about our unique natural, cultural and historic state parks. Over 250 photographs have been submitted to date. Several are featured in this issue of Parklands. Winners are selected each month. The grand prize winner will be announced in January, 2009.
