Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, shown in all its full screen glory, used Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park/Patrick's Point State Park and Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park for locations. Other movies in the film series also used state park locations. See the original trailer here
MASH the movie (1970) will be introduced by Elliott Gould who will also do a Q & A following the screening. Since so many state parks have been used as television series locations we will also screen two episodes of M*A*S*H the television series. William Christopher, Director Charles Dubin, and other cast and crew will be present for a Q & A following the television screenings. Both the movie and the television series were filmed in Malibu Creek State Park. See the original movie trailer here
Planet of the Apes (1968) was also filmed in Malibu Creek State Park. The classic final scene was filmed on the beach of Point Dume State Park. See the original trailer here
Spartacus, one of filmdom's true classics, shot in 1960 in part at Hearst San Simeon State Historic Monument, a.k.a. Hearst Castle.
