Angel Island State Park

Grant provided by PG&E and Oracle

Location/Directions: Meet at the Tiburon ferry dock behind Servino’s restaurant, 9 Main Street in Tiburon. Google Map Ferry wristbands will be handed out to volunteers.
Check-In Time: 9:30 a.m. at ferry terminal in Tiburon. Ferry leaves promptly at 10:00 a.m. and returns hourly until 4:20 p.m.
Project Time: 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Projects: Trail work, dock improvements, erosion control and weed abatement
Food: Volunteers will have coffee, pastries, fruit and bars provided for breakfast, Subway sandwiches for lunch.


Auburn State Recreation Area

Location/Directions: 501 El Dorado Street, Auburn 95603. From Sacramento, take the I80 Elm Street exit. Turn left onto Elm Street at stoplight then left again onto High Street. Continue on High Street as it turns info Hwy 49 to the Confluence, approximately three miles below Auburn. Google Map

Benicia State Recreation Area

Location/Directions: Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden. 1 State Park Road, Benicia, CA 94510. From Interstate 780 West, exit Columbus Parkway. Turn left onto Rose Drive. Turn right into the park. From Interstate 780 East, exit Columbus Parkway. Turn left into the park. Projects: Plant native trees, shrubs, and perennials in Coastal Sage Scrub and Chaparral areas, mulch new plants, remove non-native plants in garden area and along pathways, and repair split rail fence bordering the garden

Bolsa Chica State Beach

Projects: Campfire Center rehabilitation, Lifeguard Headquarters native plant garden maintenance: clear weeds, plant native plants, install rain barrels, and overall park beautification: remove ice plant, clean up debris, refurbish interpretive signs, and remove graffiti.
Food: Volunteers will have coffee, pastries, and fruit provided for breakfast, Subway sandwiches for lunch.


Candlestick Point State Recreation Area

Location/Directions: 503 Hunters Point Expressway, San Francisco. From Hwy 101 take the Candlestick Park exit heading east towards the former stadium. Follow shoreline to the Candlestick Point State Recreation Area Day Use parking lot. Google Map

Carpinteria State Beach

Projects: Plant two recently-developed areas: east side of Carpinteria Creek and dune area near recently-constructed boardwalk.

China Camp State Park

Location/Directions: 101 Peacock Gap Trail, San Rafael, CA 94901. From Hwy 101, take North San Pedro Road exit. Drive east on North San Pedro Road for 5 miles.

Projects: Build free-standing food storage lockers for each campsite, paint the newly-built lockers and the existing lockers with a sealant. Docent-led walks and discussions with Earth Day themes will be held in the afternoon.

Chino Hills State Park

Projects: Build new retaining wall to prevent erosion, campground maintenance, clear and trim vegetation, and level campsites.

Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park

Location/Directions: Earlimart, CA 93219. From 1-5 take 99 north 30 miles past Bakersfield. Exit at Pond Road and go west approximately seven miles to Hwy 43. Go right on Hwy 43 for eight miles to Palmer Avenue. Make a left over the railroad tracks and turn right to enter the park. Coming from northern California, take the Alpaugh exit off Hwy 99 in Earlimart, turn right on County Road J22 (Sierra Way). Go seven miles to Hwy 43. Go left two miles to Palmer Avenue. Doheny State Beach

Projects: Volunteers will be working on an array of restoration and cleanup projects around the north day use area: replanting and landscaping, install interpretive signage in Butterfly Garden, and weed and trash removal. Please bring work gloves, your favorite shovel, a bucket or bag for trash and a drink dispenser.
Food: Volunteers will have coffee, pastries, and fruit provided for breakfast, Subway sandwiches for lunch.


Folsom Lake State Recreation Area

Projects: Remove weed and unwanted vegetation around the Folsom Sector Office and parking area; install an irrigation system; plant local drought-efficient plants and add local river rocks to the landscape; add signage at three parking stalls; maintenance Yard work; split wood and package it to be sold.

Grover Hot Springs State Park

Half Moon Bay State Beach

Jack London State Historic Park

Picacho State Recreation Area

Location/Directions: 4900 Picacho Road, Winterhaven, CA 92283 (long dirt road to project site) Google Map The route into the park via Picacho Road from Winterhaven, CA is a two wheel drive road. It is 25 miles from Winterhaven and the last 18 miles are dirt. It takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to the park from Winterhaven. Gas up and get any supplies in Yuma, AZ or Winterhaven, CA before heading in.

Projects: Improve drive-in camp facility, install dish washing area and animal-resistant trash receptacles, install solar lighting at Lower Dock Boat Launch ramp and trim vegetation, and install food lockers at each Boat-In Camp

San Buenaventura State Beach

Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park

Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area

Sinkyone Wilderness State Park - Usal Beach and Campground

Location/Directions: Turn north off Hwy 1 near Mile marker 90.88 Mendocino County Hwy 1 onto Usal Road. Proceed 6 miles on Usal Road to Usal Beach. Usal Road turnoff is approximately one hour north of Fort Bragg on Hwy 1. It requires 4WD or AWD vehicle with sufficient clearance due to unpaved, steep, narrow road. Camping is available at Usal Beach Camp Ground the night prior and night of event, if you provide your own camping equipment, camp food and cooking equipment. Google Map
